Former Barcelona star does not regret 2023 move to Real Betis despite recent struggles

It’s been a difficult season for Ez Abde. Having opted to leave Barcelona at the start of the campaign in favour of a move to Real Betis, the 22-year-old has struggled for prominence in recent months, having played less than 30 combined minutes for Los Verdiblancos since the end of February.

Despite this, Abde does not regret joining Betis last summer, and he told Diario AS that he is hoping for better going forward.

“I don’t regret signing for Betis for a second. I spoke to my family, we made the decision and I still think I got it right. I’m happy in Seville and at the club, I love the fans and the Benito Villamarin. I get goosebumps every time I go out on the field and hear them sing the anthem.”

Abde delivered a promising cameo during last week’s El Gran Derbi draw, and he will hope that it can be the catalyst for a strong end to the season. He could make a return to the Real Betis starting line-up on Sunday, when he faces former club Osasuna at El Sadar, a stadium that holds good memories for him.
